Why A Farmer Enrichment Program

We could've stopped at a “branded t-shirt” but looking at the state of apparel production, the state of land loss /equity for black farmers in the US & Africa particularly cotton farmer’s, and the environmental issue related to apparel we went a step further and connected it all…

“From Seed2Shirt, your T-shirt doesn’t start in a store…it starts in the field. Fast fashion is shifting to more eco-friendly conscious models and Seed2Shirt, plan is to be a leader among this shift.”

We practice a "Beyond Fair-Trade" model sewing back into the farmers to improve the lives of small-scale and socially disadvantaged cotton farmers. We accomplish this through initiatives that expand resources, encourage sustainability, and build resilience We have collaborative partners in this work  in US & Africa. A percentage of all our sales goes towards this program, supporters can donate to our work - donate here.

We're excited to share we are starting similar work in the US  dedicating our efforts in direct suport of Black Farmers - cotton farmers in particular to expand access to resources, programs and climate beneficial resources. We are rooted in the spirit of service. We'll share more about this work in our US programs area, of this  page, in  the coming months!

The Program

Seed2Shirt – Farmer Enrichment program is the culmination of efforts dedicated and centered on the empowerment of marginalized people leading to the rebuilding of community and countering systems of inequity. The Farmer Enrichment Program empowers black, indigenous people of color (BIPOC) farmers—particularly cotton farmers in US and Africa to earn a livable wages and positively impact the global apparel production supply chain.

- Workshops: Organic Farming - Soil Health - Business Training

This is more than a shirt it’s a movement that supports a global shift in how we source, who is involved in apparel production at scale in the US,  a shift in how we support the backbone of our planet small hold farmers  and ultimately improving the equity divide.
